With the name “the event city,” Oshkosh has some large shoes to fill. The plethora of music festivals throughout the summer, the famous EAA, and numerous fishing tournaments all year round definitely give Oshkosh a reason for this prestigious name. While these events are exciting, let’s not look past the smaller events that bring the local community together, particularly the weekly Farmers Market.
What started out as a small amount of vendors every Saturday morning is now the talk of the town and has become more than just buying vegetables. Vendors from all over the area sell their seasonal crops, crafts, and so much more. Not only can you find plenty to bring home, you can also sit down and relax. The Magnet, Gardinas, Bar 430, the New Moon, and other restaurants and cafes open their sidewalk patios for you to enjoy people watching and seeing familiar faces while indulging in a delicious breakfast.
As you walk or sit and enjoy, be surrounded by delightful music of local musicians. Along with this, you can look forward to running into friends while you enjoy the Saturday morning sun. The Farmers Market isn’t just for adults either. Come with the kids for face painting, balloon animals, and other exciting weekly activities that are fun for the whole family.
Whoever said Oshkosh doesn’t have any events for its own citizens has never been downtown on a Saturday morning during summer time. The market takes place every Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM from June to October no matter the weather. Stop down and get locally grown produce, handmade crafts, and plants, and so much more. Oshkosh is one of the most up and coming cities in the Midwest, come be part of the events that are making this a city people are proud to call their home.
